"3 Bands, 3 Songs, 3 Bucks -- every month!"
We did it. ITAV has released 3 brand new, exclusive songs by 3 independent artists every month for a year. We're marking this event with a great offering by three favorites of ours!
Drinking Mercury, hot on the heels of their great album "Orcades," delivers in spades with a genre-defying stomper that seems to be equal parts Elephant 6 and latter day SST, while Veloura Caywood gives us a taste of things to come. She's set to release a cassette, "14 Years" in the near future that, true to it's title represents fourteen years worth of music. Her offering for this month's single was written since then and won't appear on the tape. Finally, Geistlos, the one-man songwriting project of Boise, Idaho-based multi-instrumentalist Nick Merz, delivers a track that just digs a hole in your chest by melding the confessional gravity of someone like Richard Buckner with a near-psychedelic production style that recalls David Crosby's first solo album.
We embark on year two of our 3-Way singles series next month, and kick things off in style with new tracks from Sylvan Lanes (which is Matt Milia of Frontier Ruckus going solo), Gifts Or Creatures, and White Pines. See you then!
